<p>PURPOSE: To obtain a print image of high quality at low cost without making a system complex by performing a stage for hardware processing of an input pixel into an output superpixel by a logic circuit in a printer controller. CONSTITUTION: An input pixel image can be directed and redirected by using multiplexer MUXs 44 and 46, which generate a combination of one or more monitor stages and the rotation of the input pixel image in a 4-cycle clock sequence. The output of a programmed logic array PLA 48 is not rotated first, and then not mirrored by MUXs 50 and 52 to generate CHANGE's P8 to P1 at the output of the MUX 52. Then an MUX control circuit 56 which is operated synchronously with a clock signal controls the continuity of input pixel image directioning by MUX's 44, 46, 50, and 52. Consequently, a high-resolution pixel image can be generated from a low-resolution pixel image received by a printer with high resolution.</p> |
