PURPOSE: To exactly express a trimmed NURBS at a high speed by generating both the sub-element of the trimmed NURBS and the part of a trimming loop for each patch, and processing it in parallel independently of each expressuon. CONSTITUTION: When an input 800 is supphed to a host computer 810, the uniform step size and control point of a curved surface are transmitted to a co- processor 820. The curved surface is tesellationized to a triangle by a floating point processing unit FPU using a memory, illumination decision is operated, and the triangle is converted from an IC space to a DC space. Each triangle is converted into pixel data by a VSLI, and the pixel data are preserved in a frame buffer 830. A display controller 840 reads the pixel data from the frame buffer, and activates corresponding picture elements on a display device 850. The display controller 840 successively reads the pixel data from the frame buffer, and transmits a control signal for controlling the color, luminance, and place of each picture element to the display device 850. |
