PURPOSE:To provide a manufacturing method of an optical waveguide capable of obtaining the optical waveguide of complicated structure efficiently. CONSTITUTION:The manufacturing method of an optical waveguide is provided with a process in which a waveguide pattern body 10 comprising quartz material is obtained, a process in which quartz material is powdered and formed together with the waveguide pattern body to obtain a formed body 17 in which the waveguide pattern body is buried is obtained, and a process in which the formed body 17 is formed into a transparent glass.
