PURPOSE:To enable setting a desired travel route easily in a short time, relating to a navigation device that guides a car for a travel route. CONSTITUTION:After a starting intersection is specified on a map, then with this as a beginning paint, the first course selection that selects a road in the externally specified traveling direction is made (110-160), and the section as far as the next intersection on the selected road is highlighted on a display map and stored as a travel route, and then, the roads of the same kind as the route are, as the next course, sequentially selected, for automatic setting of a route (160-220). When corrective input is made on the way, the routes which correspond to the intersections that correspond to the number of times are canceled (210), and after the cancellation, or if course selection is impossible, automatic re-setting of route, with the terminal point of the set route used as a beginning point, is made. If, at the time of highlighting of a route or cancelling of it, the next intersection is not on the display map, a map with the intersection at its center is displayed instantly (180, 210). |
