PURPOSE:To surely recognize the picture direction and to perform a proper recovery operation for blank documents at the time when the character direction of documents including blank documents is recognized. CONSTITUTION:The image forming method using an automatic document feeder consists of the carrying process where a document is carried to a picture information read position, a blank paper detecting process where the presence or the absence of picture information on the document is detected, the inverting process where the document is inverted and is carried to the picture information read position again at the time of detecting the blank state of one face of the document, the detecting process where prescribed picture information in the picture information page area set to the picture information read position is detected, the recognizing process where the picture direction of picture information is recognized by detected picture information data, the discriminating process where recognized picture direction data of respective documents are compared to discriminate the picture direction compatibility of each document, and the ejecting process where the image formation on a form corresponding to the document is not operated to eject the form at the time of detecting the blank state of both faces of the document, and these processes are successively executed to form the image. |
