PACKET EXCHANGE TYPE COMMUNICATION METHOD

PURPOSE:To transfer a packet with high priority earlier by not simply keeping a packet whose transfer is blocked waiting but taking a positive countermeasure against the blocked packet. CONSTITUTION:When the transfer of a packet <<10 is blocked by other packet <<5 on its transfer path, at least part of information of the packet <<10 whose transfer is blocked is sent in advance to a packet exchange element 4 storing the packet <<5 bloc king the transfer. Priority may be adopted for the information sent in advance, and the packet exchange element 4 makes arbitration based on the priority 10 sent in advance and on priority 7 of other packet #7 causing collision through the selection of a same output port 62 of the packet #5 receiving the priority 10 sent in advance and outputs the packet #5 having the highest priority 10 to a selected output port.
