<p>PURPOSE:To provide a coating method of a surface protective layer of a small- size card such as driver's license and ID card by which a surface protective layer is formed uniformly and stably to designed film thickness and the film thickness can be changed. CONSTITUTION:In a coating device 100, an epoxy UV-curing resin as a coating liquid 102 is applied to form a hard coating film by making a coating member consisting of a fibrous material or fibrous cloth with the coating liquid on a thermal-transfer-type card material 11 ooze it. In this device, the amt. of the coating liquid supplied from the liquid tank 101 to the coating part 110 is controlled by opening and closing an electromagnetic valve 170. The opening time of the valve 170 is changed according to the height of the liquid surface in the tank 101 and the temp. of the liquid is kept constant even when the environmental temp. changes. Thus, coating to form a film of specified thickness is performed.</p> |
