PURPOSE: To provide a signal receiving method for pager by which the power consumption of a pager can be saved rationally by performing the detection of a preamble signal prior to the detection of a synchronizing signal. CONSTITUTION: The occurrence of such a case that new frame synchronization is failed, because no time is available for the synchronization, or the detection of a transmitted signal is missed is prevented by detecting whether or not a preamble signal exists during the transmitting period of a frame F6 which is transmitted before the last frame F7 is detected when, for example, the characteristic number of a user belongs to the last frame F7 or by detecting whether or not the preamble signal exists during the transmitting period of the last frame F7 when the characteristic number does not belong to the frame F7. |
