PURPOSE:To provide a gas diffusion electrode which presents an improved conductivity. CONSTITUTION:A gas diffusion electrode is composed of a gas supply layer 4, catalyst layer 3, and collector plate 5. The catalyst layer 3 is joined with one side of the gas supply layer 4, while the collector plate 5 is joined with the other side of the gas supply layer 4. Fine powder of a metal or metal oxide having good conductivity and anti-corrosiveness is included in this gas supply layer 4. The resultant gas diffusion electrode presents a low specific resistance at the time of collecting electricity. |
