The invention relates to an orthopaedic apparatus such as, in particular, a corset for supporting and holding the trunk in a seated position, intended for the cerebrally handicapped. The apparatus (1) consists of a rigid chair shell (2), which is adapted to the individual user, and a stabilising base (3).
