PURPOSE:To easily input the plural character strings of a similar type by calling a stored character input mode by pressing a specific key. CONSTITUTION:A work RAM in a CPU is equipped with a display buffer 1a, telephone dictionary input buffer 1b, character input mode input buffer 1c, character input mode register 1d, input state register 1e, and character input conversion buffer 1f. Moreover, the work RAM is equipped with a setting means part 1g which preliminarily allocates each kind of mode to each key, and a calling means part 1h which calls each kind of stored and allocated mode. Then, the character input mode of the previously inputted data is automatically stored, and the stored character input mode is called by pressing the specific key(for example, character input mode key).
