These antiscale processes, the simplest made at present, employ a powerful magnetic field of an anisotropic ferrite (1). The supports are either a steel or iron sheet (2), but may be made of plastic or other materials. The fastenings securing them to the water pipe to be treated must be made of an electrically nonconductive material and the coatings may be made of different materials, making it possible to avoid direct contact with the pipe conveying the water to be treated and oxidation. Purpose of the anisotropic ferrites: to extract an electron from the molecule of calcium bicarbonate in order that the latter, after having undergone a thermal shock, may give a calcium carbonate molecule which crystallises in the form of aragonite instead of a molecule of calcite. <IMAGE>
