PURPOSE:To ensure the control of water quality for easy maintenance by controlling a cooling water refilling means and a draining means in accordance with a signal from a water quality monitoring means to monitor water quality. CONSTITUTION:Cell cooling water is guided from a water supply source to a water tank 2a and fed into a vapor separator with a water supply pump 2d. The cooling water. being hot, is cooled in a cell cooling water cooler 2f. It is guided into a fuel cell main pipe 2h with a cooling water circulation pump 2g to cool the fuel cell mainframe and guided into the separator 2e for circulation. The quality of the cooling water is monitored by a water quality monitor 2i which is provided between the cell cooling water cooler 2f and the cooling water circulation pump 2g to measure the pH or conductivity of the cooling water. When the measured value exceeds a preset threshold value, a signal is issued to actuate the pump 2d, open a current valve 2k which is provided in a drain line for the separator 2e and perform refilling, drainage, and exchange of the cooling water. The quality of the cooling water is then automatically regulated to set the pH or conductivity to a preset value, resulting in easy maintenance. |
