PURPOSE:To execute both-side copying even in the case of interruptive copying, and to prevent paper for copying before interruption and paper for interruptive copying from being mixed and being inadvertently used in a copying machine capable of both-side copying and provided with an interruption function. CONSTITUTION:This machine is provided with a sensor 13 for detecting the presence or absence of paper in an intermediate tray 12. It is also provided with a control means 18 controlling so that either a both-side mode or a one-side mode can be selected as a control mode which is interruptively set in the case of judging that the paper does not exist in the tray 12 according to an output from the sensor 13, and controlling so that only the one-side mode can be selected in the case of judging that the paper exists. Thus, the paper having a first surface on which an image has been copied before interruption and the paper having the first surface on which the image is copied at the time of interruption are prevented from being mixed in the tray 12. |
