<p>PURPOSE: To determine the position and the direction of a remote object by providing the apparatus with a remote sensor and a processor and compensating the position and the direction as functions relevant to the displacement from the source reference coordinates frame of electromagnetic field generating element components or to the displacement from the sensor reference coordinates frame of the electromagnetic field generating element components. CONSTITUTION: Compensation of eccentricity in a small scale is carried out by adjusting the defects of coil groups and compensation in a large scale is carried out by dispersive arrangement of coil gropes in order to lessen the errors caused by eccentricity of the coil groups which regulate a source and a sensor. An electromagnetic field source comprises electromagnetic field generating means of generator antennas 11, 12, 13 and establishes a stable pseudomagnetic field. The magnetic field is a low frequency magnetic field whose radiation action can be neglected. A transmitter is provided with a signal generator 20, a mutiplexer 21, and an amplifier 22 for driving. A receiver sensor is provided with reception antennas 31, 32, 33 and respective outputs are sent to the multiplexer 41. The output of the multiplexer 41 is sent to a synchronous demodulator 43 provided with phase detecting technology and further sent to a processor 46, and the position and the direction of the sensor 30 are determined.</p> |
