摘要 PURPOSE:To provide a highly efficient light exciting waveguide type solid-state laser and its production method where the control of oscillation frequency and narrowing of oscillating line width can be established at the same time. CONSTITUTION:The title laser is composed of a YAG crystal or a displacement type YAG crystal where a part of composition elements other than an oxygen in the YAG crystal is displaced with at least one element having equivalant valence, and a three-dimensional waveguide 11 that is provided with a core 12 where at least one of trivalent Nd, Ho, Er, and Tm or tetravalent Cr is included as an active ion is hybrid-connected in series with a quartz waveguide 13 having a diffraction grating 15 as an external resonator through a reflection preventive film 16. Thus, when a pumping light is made incident from the outside, the active ion in the core 12 is excited to generate fluorescence, and only the desired infrared light thereof is excited to generate single-mode laser beam with narrow line width.
