Modular supporting construction for the front end of a vehicle

A modular supporting construction (1) for the front end of a vehicle has a central frame (11) for the mounting of a radiator (2), which frame is formed from an upper and a lower, horizontal frame section (12, 13). A horizontal frame section (15), which is in the middle in front of the central frame (11), rests on a rear support (7a) of a front bumper (7) when the supporting structure is secured on the front end of the vehicle body. A central, vertical supporting section (16), which is provided in front of the central frame (11), connects the upper and the middle, horizontal frame section (12, 13) to each other. On its upper side the supporting section (16) has a subsection (16a) for the mounting of a catch (6) for the front bonnet of the vehicle. The supporting part (16) serves for distributing the load of the front bonnet (5) onto the middle, horizontal frame (15). In the event of a minor collision the front bumper (7) and its rear support (7a) are displaced to the rear with respect to the middle, horzontal frame section (15) without in the process there being a considerable effect on the supporting structure (1).
