Stripping device for a crimping press

A stripping device (2) on a crimping press (1) is proposed which makes it possible to combine the two processes of stripping and crimping such that a cable end need be inserted into an apparatus and clamped firmly there only once. The two processes can take place successively at the same location. The stripping device (2) has means (20) for cutting through the insulation, which means (20) can be displaced longitudinally and laterally on a baseplate (4), by means of drives (50, 50'). After the actual stripping process, the means (20) are moved away to the rear, and subsequently sideways, from the stripped cable (61), the insulation residue is ejected into a collecting container (64), and the crimping process can take place. <IMAGE>
