The invention relates to a device for the end-position damping of a piston in pressure-fluid cylinders, in particular during the extension of the piston, with a damping extension attached to the piston and an annular sealing element serving a choke valve. The device is to be suitable for high pressures greater than 100 bar up to more than 200 bar and is to have low failure probability with regard to its function. To this end, the annular sealing element is designed as a compact damping ring (14) which is arranged with radial clearance (43) in an annular recess (42) made in the damping extension (13). Furthermore, a choke disc (15) is arranged in an axially fixed position between the damping extension (13) and the piston rod (6). The choke disc (15) has a slot (44) in its end face (49) and forms the axial stop and the mating sealing face for the damping ring (14).
