In a heating installation having a condensing boiler (1) and a domestic hot water circuit (4) connected in parallel with the heating circuit (2), a maximum useful output is to be guaranteed even during the domestic hot water heating. Since, owing to a customary domestic hot water priority circuit, the return temperature of the domestic hot water circuit (4) rises above the value suitable for useful-output operation, a heating-circuit pump (7), variably controlled in its volumetric flow, is used to mix cooler water from the heating circuit (2) with the return. The low return temperatures required for useful-output operation are thus maintained. <IMAGE>
