To avoid wedge-shaped, non-wiped windscreen areas along the A-pillar of motor vehicles it is known to rotate a wiper blade during wiping relative to a wiper arm in a manner controlled by a connecting rod. In this connection, a wiper-blade frame itself, or a connecting part attached thereto, is coupled to the free end of the wiper arm about an axis, which is perpendicular with respect to the wiping plane, and the relative rotation is brought about by means of a connecting rod which is coupled on the opposite side of this axis of rotation via a lever and which runs essentially along the wiper arm in a manner such that it is hidden from view. The windscreen-wiper device according to the invention has a slotted guide link (2, 4) for the displaceable mounting of the wiper-blade frame (9) on the free end of the wiper arm (1), the connecting rod (6) causing, during wiping, the displacement within the slotted guide link (2) for the purpose of rotating the wiper-blade frame (9) relative to the wiper arm (1). In this arrangement, the connecting rod is not subjected to torque transmitted by the wiper blade. Use in the motor-vehicle industry.
