The roller-blind element is intended for vertical window surfaces. It has a spring shaft (36) which is arranged vertically in the mounted state and onto which the roller-blind shutter (24) can be wound. The latter is supported on the sliding surface of a bottom, horizontal guide rail (18) and is guided in this guide rail and in a top horizontal guide rail. By virtue of a drive shaft (28), the roller-blind shutter (24) is unwound, by means of pulling bands (54) fastened on its end bar (22), from the spring shaft (36) in the closure direction, counter to the restoring force of said spring shaft. In the same manner, a textile covering (32) can be moved, independently of the roller-blind shutter (24), in a vertical plane, horizontally between an open position and a closed position. <IMAGE>
