Operating device for prescribing movements and programming robots

A description is given of an operating device for prescribing movements and programming robots having travel and direction buttons, in which various coordinate systems and a different number of degrees of freedom can be selected for prescribing movements. The operating device has an arrangement consisting of a 3-D sensor system having a signal source (5) and a sensor receiver (6) for detecting the spatial position and movement of the same in all six degrees of freedom. The movements of the operating device (8) are converted directly into the robot movements of a robot (10), the sensor signals being evaluated by means of a computer (7) and transmitted as position values (12) to a conventional robot control system (9) via a standard interface and converted into robot movements. <IMAGE>
