The input shaft (E) and the output shaft (S) are parallel, and fixed speed ratios (G1 and G2) are provided by two parallel gear trains (1 and 2) having pinions always in engagement. The ratio (G2) is higher than the ratio (G1) and of the same direction. A first power path (P1) according to the first fixed speed ratio (G1) comprises a first clutch (C1) and a second clutch (C2), and a second power path (P2) according to the second fixed speed ratio (G2) comprises a third clutch (C3). The transmission comprises, furthermore, a double planetary train (50), a first brake (B1) and a second brake (B2). Alternatively, the input shaft (E) and the output shaft (S) are aligned, and one of the two ratios (G1, G2) is a direct drive. The transmission is compact and has six forward gears and one reverse gear and is very easy to adapt.
