Load-bearing member and process for the production thereof

In a preferred embodiment, the load-bearing member contains three tubular longitudinal elements which are connected to one another by means of a plurality of connecting elements arranged one behind the other in the axial direction. The connecting elements are formed from a lozenge-shaped metal sheet which is angled off through 90@ along a bending edge forming an axis of symmetry, with the result that two triangular plate portions are formed. Said connecting elements are welded, by means of the lateral borders in the region of the bending edge, on two tubes located one beside the other and, by means of the tips of the two triangular plate portions, on the third tube. The load-bearing member can be produced with a considerably reduced amount of work and has an interesting appearance.
