The invention relates to a pallet transport system with a roller table composed of a plurality of roller-table portions (1 to 4), each with its own drive, a first monitoring switch (14) being arranged at the start of a first roller-table portion (2) and a second monitoring switch (15) being arranged between the first and a second roller-table portion (2, 3), and the monitoring switches being actuable by a pallet (10 to 13). A first end-of-travel switch (17) within the first roller-table portion and a second end-of-travel switch (18) within the second roller-table portion are provided, the end-of-travel switches being actuable by a pallet. The distances between the first monitoring switch (14) and the first end-of-travel switch (17) as well as between the second monitoring switch (15) and the second end-of-travel switch (18) correspond, in each case, to a predeterminable minimum distance (x) between two adjacent pallets. The warning signals of the monitoring switches and end-of-travel switches are interlinked in such a way that the falling short of the minimum distance is recognised from them. The travel command (F8V, F7R) for the drive (5, 6, 7, 8) of the roller-table portion (2, 3) at the rear in the direction of movement of the pallets is interrupted until the minimum distance (x) between two adjacent pallets is obtained. <IMAGE>
