The object of the invention is to provide a parking facility for motor vehicles, having a transporting apparatus for raising and lowering the motor vehicles and introducing them into parking spaces arranged one above the other and one beside the other, which facility permits, in particular, rapid introduction into storage, and removal from storage, of the motor vehicles and reduces the structural outlay for the transportation of the motor vehicles. In order to be able to achieve this object, the parking spaces (2) form, as from the entrance and exit level of the motor vehicles, multi-storey storage and retrieval blocks (6) which are arranged in parallel one beside the other. The entrances of the parking spaces (2) are located opposite one another. Between them, a transporting unit (1), with carriage (13) is arranged such that it can be moved by means of a lifting mechanism. Adjoining the entrance and exit level is an entrance lock (11) with transfer space (21) and, opposite this on the exit side, a turntable (14) with a displacement apparatus.
