摘要 <p>In the preheating of charge material (16), which contains glass and organic additions, in an indirect heat exchanger (10) which has at least one preheating shaft (11) and a heating chamber (12) adjacent thereto, to temperatures up to a maximum of just below the softening temperature of the glass for subsequent introduction into a glass melting furnace (1), toxic low-temperature carbonisation gases arise from the organic additions. The heat exchanger (10) is in this case heated with waste gases from the glass melting furnace (1). In order to prevent the escape of these low-temperature carbonisation gases into the atmosphere, the gases and vapours formed from the organic additions are at least partly, preferably completely, introduced into the glass melting furnace (1) from the heat exchanger (10) and there combusted to form harmless compounds. <IMAGE></p>
