<p>The invention relates to a method for applying marginal perforations on a printing tape for a rotary printing machine having at least one back-pressure cylinder and at least two printing tape cylinders, over which the printing tape, bearing the continuous printing formes or printing images, runs and one impression cylinder of which is provided in the region of its ends in each case with a radial ring of pins, which pins engage the holes of the marginal perforations of the printing tape. To achieve the object of providing a method of this type, according to which the marginal perforations can be applied on a printing tape in such a way that the punched holes retain their circular shape even in the stressed state of the printing tape in a printing machine and the interval between the holes of the perforations corresponds precisely to the division of the pins of the toothed rings, the printing tape is stretched before the marginal perforations are applied with a stress corresponding to the stress with which it runs over the printing tape cylinders during printing operation. This tensioning state is maintained during the punching of the perforations. The invention furthermore relates to a device for carrying out the abovementioned method.</p> |
