A suction device for cleaning the surfaces of a ceiling a fan blade comprises a head (100) by which suction can be applied to both faces of the blade simultaneously. The head may be constructed with a through orifice for receiving the blade and a brush arrangement 114. Means for applying cleaning liquid to the blade surfaces may be provided, and the handle may be telescopic. A kit of parts including the cleaning device and a method of cleaning a fan blade using the cleaning device are also disclosed.
