CAMCORDOR HAVING FUNCTION FOR AROUND BACKGROUND SEARCH

A camcorder 1 has a first lens 3 for capturing a background scene within a constant picture plane angle and a conventional zoom lens 2 for capturing a foreground scene. The images captured by the lenses 2, 3 may be selectively or concurrently displayed on the viewfinder 4. In one embodiment the image in the viewfinder 4 is rapidly switched between the foreground scene and the background scene such that the two images are perceived as being merged. In another embodiment the foreground and background scenes are displayed in the viewfinder in Picture-In-Picture form, or a selection between the two modes of display may be made.
