PURPOSE:To obtain a tool for firing free from the reaction with a material to be fired and excellent in workability or the like by constituting a tool for firing with a porous ceramic body and coating a surface in contact with a material to be fired with a noble metal. CONSTITUTION:The porous ceramic body composed of a ceramic such as alumina, magnesia is prepared. The porosity of the porous ceramic is preferably 40-85%, the pore diameter is preferably 0.01-5mum and the pore is preferably a communicating pore mutually communicating with each other. Next, the noble metal (e.g. platinum) is applied on at least the surface of the porous ceramic body in contact with the material to be fired by sputtering method, electroless plating method or the like. The tool for firing is produced by heat- treating the coated body at a temp. above the firing temp. of the material to be fired. The obtained tool for firing is used for various material to be fired and since the base material is composed of a porous lightweight body, the debindering property and the thermal shock resistance are excellent. |
