PURPOSE:To provide a medical material which provides better vital compatibility, a high elongation, a low permanent set, low hydrolytic property, excellent antithrombus property and the like by using a medical material made of polyester-based polyurethane material having a branch chain. CONSTITUTION:This medical material is made of a polyester, based polyurethane material having a branch chain and a catheter is made using the same. The polyurethane herein used meets the requirements of elongation of 600% or more. a permanent set of 60% or less after it is extended by 500% for 10min. and a drop in elastic modulus of 40% or less after it is immersed into water at 100 deg.C for 40hour. The medical material thus obtained is formed using the polyester-based polyurethane material having the branch chain which has a low hardness, a high elongation, a low permanent set, low hydrolytic property and excellent antithrombus property with respect to at least a part in contact with humor. Especially, the material thus obtained is ideal for use in a balloon for thermodilution catheter, a nutrition-based catheter tube and the like. |
