PURPOSE:To restrain switching of damping force in a damping force variable shock absorber when relative displacement and relative speed between a car body and an axle are minute. CONSTITUTION:Detecting values of sprung acceleration sensors 12a-12d arranged in a vehicle body are integrated by integrators 36a-36d, and sprung speed is calculated, and relative displacement between the car body and an axle is detected by relative displacement detecting means 45a-45d, and these are inputted to a microcomputer 38. Thereby, relative speed is calculated according to the relative displacement, and an average value of the relative displacement is calculated, and a neutral point of the relative displacement is calculated, and when deviation between the neutral point of the relative displacement and the relative displacement is not more than the first minute preset value, and also in a stable condition where the relative speed is not more than the second minute preset value, a control signal of a logical value '0' is outputted to driving circuits 48a-48d, and only when the sprung speed and the relative speed coincide with each other except the stable travel condition, a control signal of a logical value '1' is outputted to the circuits 48a-48d, and current-carrying control is carried out on solenoids 31a-31d of a damping force variable shock absorber, and damping force is controlled in high and low two stages. |
