PURPOSE:To obtain an absorbing material for a simple toilet having high urine- absorption rate, usable also in a large-sized facility and keeping stable state in use. CONSTITUTION:This absorbing material for toilet contains 10-50wt.% of highly water-absorbing fiber and/or water-absorbing polymer, absorbs >=400wt.% of physiological saline water under no-load and keeps spaces even in a state soaked with 400wt.% of water. Preferably, the highly water-absorbing fiber is a fiber produced by copolymerizing a monomer having carboxylic acid group, a monomer having hydroxyl group and/or amino group capable of reacting with the carboxylic acid group to form an ester crosslinking bond and a monomer having carboxylic acid alkali metal salt group and thermally crosslinking the copolymer. The fiber absorbs >=800wt.% and <2,000wt.% of physiological saline water. |
