<p>PURPOSE: To provide a method for controlling a profile subjected to thermal effect and a device capable of effecting actual profile of a work roll, especially in a strip edge-contact region, in the sense of correction on a target work roll profile, in the case of rolling the strip. CONSTITUTION: In a method for controlling a profile subjected to thermal effect of a work roll in the case of rolling a strip having different width when occasion demands, determining a position of edges of the rolling strip 3 of a strip 1 on the working roll 2, detecting a shifted position for thermally isolated cover shells 5, 6, covering the length of a rolled part in the region of edges of strip 3, and thereby giving effect on the temperature distribution in the roll 2 are made available. Shifting cover shells 5, 6 is made so that the region of the length of the roll 2 selectively in strip edge-contact region 3 and the region of the length of the roll 2 which does not contact with the rolling material 1 while rolling is executed, may be covered.</p> |
