PURPOSE:To correct fluctuation of image signals caused by the strength unevenness, scanning velocity unevenness or the like of a light beam for scanning thermosensitive recording material in a thermal recording apparatus. CONSTITUTION:By keeping the output of semiconductor laser 14 constant, laser beam L is applied to a thermosensitive recording material S. Herein, the density in a recording part of the thermosensitive material S is detected by a densitometer, and on the basis of the detected value, shading correction data is set in a correction data storing part 36 so that the density characteristics become constant. A controller 38 serves to read out shading correction data corresponding to picture image signals and to control the output of a semiconductor laser 14, thereby possibly correcting fluctuation in the output of the laser beam L applied onto the thermosensitive recording material S. |
