PURPOSE:To improve spalling resistance and to prevent the generation of crack caused by an thermal impact as an upper nozzle material for a slide gate. CONSTITUTION:In the upper nozzle brick for an alumina-carbonaceous slide gate, 10-40wt.% Al2O3 enriched mullite refractory raw material having a chemical composition of 80-95wt.% Al2O3 and 5-20wt.% SiO2 is used. As a result, the upper nozzle brick for the alumina-carbonaceous slide gate using the Al2O3 enriched mullite refractory raw material keeps the corrosion resistance, is extremely improved in the spalling resistance and has the service life of 1.3-1.6 times that of the conventional upper nozzle brick for the alumina/carbonaceous slide gate even in practical use. |
