PURPOSE:To enable repeated electrostatic flocking even in dried state and to obtain the subject flock enabling smooth continuous flocking by forming a specific electrostatic polymer layer on the surface of short fibers for electrostatic flocking. CONSTITUTION:Fibers (long or short fibers) for electrostatic flocking treatment such as natural, regenerated, semisynthetic or synthetic fiber are immersed in an aqueous solution containing pyrrole, N-methylpyrrole, aniline, thiophene, etc., especially pyrrole monomer and a polymerization catalyst (e.g. ammonium persulfate, etc., especially a water-soluble ferric salt, etc.) and the monomer is polymerized to form an electrostatic polymer layer of the monomer on the surface of the fiber to a thickness of 0.01-0.1mum (the ratio of the non-coated part to the total surface is <=3%). Stable electrostatic flocking can be carried out by any flocking method without being influenced with the ambient moisture to obtain a uniformly flocked cloth having perpendicularly standing flock fibers. |
