PURPOSE:To constitute the teeth of a slide fastener which can be opened and closed in both the forward and the backward directions, so that the engagement of the left and the right teeth can be executed smoothly, and the opening/closing operation can be executed lightly. CONSTITUTION:Metallic teeth 1 made by press working are constituted of a engaging head part 2 and a leg part 3, and in the engaging head part 2, an engaging projecting part 4 and an engaging recessed part 5 are formed, and especially, on the outside surface 6 of the front end of the engaging head part 2, a recessed groove 7 is provided. This recessed groove 7 is formed so that its width is reduced gradually extending from the engaging recessed part 5 side to the engaging projecting part 4 side, and also, its depth is decreased gradually extending from the engaging recessed part 5 side to the engaging projecting part 4 side, and before and after engaging the left and the right teeth 1 at the time of opening and closing a fastener chain, the engaging head part of the other teeth 1 is guided surely, and opening and closing can be executed freely and lightly from both the forward and the backward directions. |
