PURPOSE:To develop an electrolytic-cell anode compartment of simple structure capable of making the concn. distribution of an aq. alkali metal salt soln. sufficiently uniform in the anode compartment in electrolysis and capable of conducting stable electrolysis. CONSTITUTION:One open surface of a compartment frame is covered with a partition wall 2, and an anode 3 is provided on the other open surface to constitute an electrolytic-cell anode compartment. The feed port 5 of an aq. alkali metal salt soln. is furnished at the lower end of the anode compartment when seen from the open surface provided with the anode 3, and the discharge port 6 of the electrolyzed soln. is furnished at the upper end away from the feed port 5. A gas-liq. separation trough 8 horizontally piercing a conductor part is furnished at the upper part of the conductor part in the anode compartment preferably at a distance of 0.5-1.5cm from the anode 3, and a downcomer 9 of the anolyte opened preferably at a distance of <=15cm from the feed port 6 is connected to the trough 8. |
