PURPOSE:To provide a new compound useful as a silicone-based surfactant excellent in heat resistance, weather resistance, non-toxicity, low surface tension, spreadability, antistatic properties, emulsification properties, etc., and excellent in solubility in water or various kinds of organic solvents. CONSTITUTION:A compound of formula I {R1 is a 1 to 4C alkyl; p and q are >=0 provided that both p and q are not 0; Y is formula II or III [A is a 2 to 4C alkylene; R2 is H or methyl; R3 is a 1 to 24C hydrocarbon or an acyl; n is 0 to 50; B is a hydrophilic group such as (AO)m H or (AO)rSO3M (m is 1 to 100; (r) is 1 to 50; M is H, an alkaline metal, etc.); k is 1 to 50; M1 and M2 are each M], etc.}. This compound is synthesized preferable by reacting a hydrogenpolysiloxane such as methylhydrogenpolysiloxane of formula IV with an allyl compound scuh as a compound of formula V in the presence of a platinum-based catalyst such as chloroplatinic acid preferably at 60 to 110 deg.C. |
