PURPOSE:To provide a stable lock characteristic regardless of opening/closing a glove box. CONSTITUTION:A glove box 1, provided in an instrument panel 9 in an in-cabin passenger seat side, comprises a cover unit 5 opened to an in-cabin passenger side, switch 13 for detecting this cover unit 5 opened/closed and a lamp 11 lighted when the cover unit 5 is detected to be opened by this switch 13, to provide an air bag module 17 arranged in the instrument panel in an upper side of the glove box 1 and extendable in a passenger direction in a cabin. A device comprises an inflator for extending an air bag of the air bag module 17 with high pressure gas by ignition, collision sensor for detecting collision of a vehicle, control means for outputting an ignition signal to the inflator based on a detection signal of the collision sensor and a delay means for delaying the ignition signal for a predetermined time by a signal of detecting the cover unit 5 opened by the switch 13. |
