<p>PURPOSE: To prevent abrasion which is likely to conventionally occur in a valve seat, by providing a lubrication system for a valve seat so as to prolong its use life, and to facilitate working by using a pressure test with the use of a lubricant, instead of a periodical inspection for the valve seat. CONSTITUTION: Lubrication is effected by supply of lubricant to a valve seat 32 through a pipe line 66 communicated with the exterior of a gate valve 16 and a channel 64 in a valve seat 32, and the lubricant is held in the channel by seals 42, 48 for the valve seat. A lubrication system 60 increases the pressure of the, lubricant through the intermediary of the valve seat, and accordingly, the user can inspect an integrity of the valve seat without exposing the valve itself to the atmosphere in its entirety.</p> |
