PURPOSE: To form recesses without stock-removing work by driving in a displacement body whose cross section is reduced in the front penetrating area and displacing material at least nearly transversely relative to the recesses. CONSTITUTION: A displacement body 57 whose cross section is reduced by exerting an axial force in the direction of the arrow 58 is driven into the axial area 50 of a casing part 29. In such a case, a peripheral wall material encircling the displacement body 57 is displaced outwardly by the displacement body 57. The displacement material freely flows and escapes into recesses 55, 56 of work holder parts 53, 54. The displacement body 57 which is used as e.g. a centering pin or a fitting pin and is correspondingly formed is left within a recess 51 formed by the displacement body within the casing part 29 after the driving-in stage is finished. In order to form a recess 49, the displacement body is axially drawn again from the casing part 29 in the inverse direction of the arrow 58, and whereby torsion is formed. |
