PURPOSE:To efficiently and simply form a laminate of a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin plate containing reinforcing fibers at specific volume content into a tubular shape by heating the laminate at a level higher than its softening temperature, winding it along an elongated cylindrical wind-up core to form it into a cylindrical shape, bonding its side edges to form the same into a tubular shape and cutting it after cooling and hardening. CONSTITUTION:A heating means 2 softens a laminate 1, and a first through a third flap 31, 32, 33, 34 in a forming means 31 wind the softened laminate 1 around a wind-up core 30 to form the laminate into a cylindrical shape by pressing overlapped portions against one another. Further, a cooling means 4 cools and hardens the pipe- shaped laminate 1, delivery rollers 5 guide the same, and a cutting means 6 cuts it into a desired length. The first flaps 31, 32 deflect the cross section of the laminate 1 into a bow shape and are twisted so that the laminate is made to adhere closely to the wind-up core 30. The second and the third flaps 33, 34 overlap and wind the portions (a), (b) of the laminate 1, which sag from the wind-up core 30, to form them into a cylindrical shape, and press the overlapped portion firmly against the wind-up core 30 to bring it air-tightly into contact with the wind-up core 30. |
