PURPOSE:To provide an optical tuner starting method capable of easily performing an initial setting of a diffraction grating position without necessitating to adjust the position of the diffraction grating at an assembling stage. CONSTITUTION:An optical signal is inputted through an input fiber 1 and a lens 3, then, the inputted light is diffracted while rotating the diffraction grating 4, and then, the light intensity of the diffracted light is detected by a photodetector 6, the maximum value of the light intensity is detected by a maximum value detection circuit part 7, the rotational position of the diffraction grating 4 obtained when the detected value is the maxims value is stored by a storage circuit part 9, thereafter, a rotating mechanism part 5 is controlled by a driving control part 8 so that the diffracted light may be received by making the stored rotational position as the initial position, and then, the diffraction grating 4 is rotated. |
