PURPOSE:To provide the optical recording medium free from such troubles as deformation of recording pits and generation of imperfect erasing by discontinuously changing the physical quantities, such as temp. distribution, dependent upon film thicknesses at the point of a level difference. CONSTITUTION:A material different in reflectivity from a substrate 1 is embedded into the grooves 2 provided on this substrate 1 and a recording film 3 is provided thereon. The surface of the recording film 3 has no ruggedness and its film thickness is constant if the recording film is formed in such a manner. The temp. distribution changes continuously even if such optical recording medium is irradiated with a laser beam. Consequently, the formed recording pits are not deformed and the imperfect erasing after the irradiation with the erasing beam does not arise. Further, the grooves 2 are embedded with the material 6 having the reflectivity different from the reflectivity of the substrate 1 and, therefore, the sufficient application of tracking servo is possible. |
