PURPOSE:To provide an optical and wireless interface by means of an existing display terminal connected to a host system in order to facilitate the connection between the host system and an external peripheral device. CONSTITUTION:A data transfer device consists of a display device 11 having one or more picture element areas which produce the optical signals and a hardware device having one or more photodetector 21 which can detect the optical signals. The picture elements can be minimized and also can discretely vary on the device 11 to secure the ON/OFF binary states, the colors or the luminance, or both colors and luminance. Then the photodetector 21 evaluates the ON/OFF states, the colors or the luminance of the picture elements to decide the signal value. |
