摘要 PURPOSE: To accurately determine the position of the trouble of a radiation source by calculating the correlation coefficients between the radiation patterns of an antenna when the radiation source is intentionally set to the trouble state and the radiation patterns of the antenna during the operation on the site. CONSTITUTION: Radiant elements 2, 3 are fixed to the beam 1 of a single-pulse type secondary radar antenna, and the operation is constituted of a sum patternΣ, a difference pattern▵, and a pseudo omnidirectional patternΩ. The pattersΣi ,▵i ,Ωi measured on the site on the antenna kept in a specific configuration while a radiant element (i) is set to the trouble state are stored in a library. The radiation patternsΣ,▵,Ωof the antenna during the IFF interrogation mode operation are measured on the side at the prescribed time. The correlation coefficients to signal pairs (Σi ,Σ), (Ωi ,▵), (Ωi ,Ω) are calculated by the prescribed equation. The maximum values of the correlation coefficientsρΣi ,ρ▵i ,ρΩi are calculated. The element (i) possibly having a trouble corresponds to the highest correlation coefficients. The calculation of the correlation coefficients is repeated to check all radiant elements.
